We are currently running a range of groups from our Werribee Clinic. These groups are designed and run by occupational therapists with the goal of working on shared goals in a group environment.

Get set for school

Saturday mornings in Term 4 2016

​

This group is intended for children at the end of their kinder journey entering primary school in 2017. The group will focus on helping your child to develop the learning, self-care, attention and social skills needed for primary school. Some of these areas include fine motor skills (cutting, drawing, writing), following classroom routines, extending ability to concentrate on a task and being in an environment where sharing and turn taking are essential. The group will include a fun mix of games and creative activities which will incorporate this skill development.

  • Part 1 - 22/10, 29/10 and 05/11/2016

  • Mid group break to practice skills (no group on these dates) -12/11 and 19/11/2016

  • Part 2 - 26/11, 03/12 and 10/12/2016

Time: 10.30am - 11.30am

Location: 275 Consulting - 275 Princes Highway, Werribee

What is included?

  • Initial phone consultation with therapist to set goals

  • Parent and kinder teacher questionnaire

  • 6 x group sessions

  • Parent handouts

  • Summary report at the completion of the program

Tune in to school

Saturday mornings in Term 4 2016

​

This group is intended for children currently attending the early years of primary school. The group will focus on helping your child to extend the development of essential school skills, in particular engaging in tasks, handwriting and fine motos skills, maintaining attention and concentration and social skills. The group will include a combination of activities which are structured to best support your child's learning in a group context and can be generalised to the classroom. Activities will include tried and tested therapy interventions and which can be graded to support your child's individual group goals.

  • Part 2 - 26/11, 03/12 and 10/12/2016

Time: 9.15 am - 10.15 am

Parent Talks

We know that as parents you have a lot on your mind and huge amount of this is related to your children's development and wellbeing. These presentations have been designed while keeping that in mind and address some of the big areas we find are often discussed with therapists. We invite parents, grandparents, family members or other supports to attend these talks and are happy for you to come along to a single session or all three sessions depending on your needs. All sessions are presented by an experienced Occupational Therapist are free of charge - the only thing that we ask of you if attending is that you provide feedback on whether the presentation was useful and any ideas for future improvement.
